Resource Navigation

Make the next step easier to understand.

A plain-language guide for people and families trying to sort through recovery, crisis, and community-support options.

If someone is in immediate danger or may be overdosing, call 911 now. This website is informational only and is not a medical, legal, emergency, or crisis-counseling service.

Start with safety

If the person is in immediate danger, may be overdosing, or cannot stay safe, call 911. If the situation is urgent but not immediately life-threatening, use crisis resources such as NH 988 / Rapid Response.

Name the need

Is the need detox or treatment, peer recovery, transportation, housing, food, family support, safer-use education, or someone to talk to? Naming the need helps narrow the next call.

Gather basic details

Town, age range, urgency, insurance if known, transportation barriers, and what the person is willing to try can all help when speaking with resource navigators.

A simple first message

“I’m in New Hampshire. I’m trying to find help for [recovery / crisis / family support / resource navigation]. The town is [town]. It is [urgent/not urgent]. What should I try next?”
